Housing and Residential Life looks forward to welcoming students to our Radford campus on the following dates:
Returning student move-in
Wednesday, Aug. 21 - Thursday, Aug. 22, 2024
First-year and transfer student move-in
Friday, Aug. 23, 2024
Following is a list of 30-minute temporary unloading locations, associated with buildings. Please refer to the Radford Campus Move-In Parking Map [PDF] for help finding your lot.
After unloading, you will be directed to park in designated long-term lots. Please refer to the color-coded move-in map to identify which lot and building you should report to for check-in.
Move-in tents are located near each of the designated 30-minute temporary unloading lots. Students will complete the check-in process at these tents. Following are the steps to complete at check-in.
Campus community volunteers called “Highlander Haulers” will help residents and their families as they move-in. They will assist with information, additional hands and cold water and will celebrate your arrival to campus. Volunteers will be wearing bright colored shirts, making them easily identifiable.
Volunteer stations located near each move-in tent will be stocked with carts and laundry bins. You are welcome to bring your own carts and dollies to support your move.
Once you have moved into your space, check everything listed within the Room Condition Form in the housing portal. Document any pre-existing issues to avoid charges for damages unaccounted for at the time of move-in. Be sure to report any facilities issues to our staff so that we can investigate and report.
We will have loft kits available for check-out at each building. Loft kits will be checked out to students on a first come, first served basis.
If you encounter any problems with cable, electrical outlets or logging into the computer network, contact the appropriate offices using the IT/network information provided at the front desk of your hall (or apartment office). These IT/network support offices will have crews traveling around the halls to address issues throughout the day.
Student Affairs proudly hosts' Welcome Weeks to make sure you feel welcome and have an opportunity to get to know your classmates along with faculty and staff.
Be sure to check out all the Welcome Weeks activities and mark your calendars to attend them.
