Be sure to connect with your roommate before packing any shared items, or bring only the essentials and plan a shopping trip to purchase shared items after you have arrived.
You may want to wait to purchase school supplies until you know what is needed for classes/assignments.
Students may choose to bring a small refrigerator and microwave. Refrigerators must draw two amps or less and microwaves must be rated as 700 watts or less. Students also have the opportunity to rent a MicroFridge from our approved vendor and avoid packing altogether.
Radford partners with The Melvin Corporation to provide MicroFridge rentals for the year. The MicroFridge unit is a two-door, refrigerator and zero-degree freezer with a microwave oven, as an All-in-One integrated unit. These units are specifically designed with the residence rooms in mind and operate off one electrical plug, helping to free up the precious power supply constraints that typically occur in residence halls.
Visit the MicroFridge website to order or call them at 800-525-7307.
