All first time, first semester students under the age of 21 are required to live in Radford University operated housing for at least four consecutive full semesters. Students are subject to the policy based on their status at the time they are admitted to the University.

Students obligated to the boarding policy may be eligible for an exemption to this policy if the student:
Exemption requests are submitted through the Academic Year Housing Application located on the Housing Portal. Students must submit rationale and sufficient documentation to their request. More details are found in the request process.
The Housing Exemption Committee will review requests on a rolling basis. There is no guarantee that a request will be approved. Requests for exemption can take up to a month to be considered by the committee.
Please note, exemptions only apply to new students before signing a Residential Student Agreement. See Cancellation of Agreement for more info about cancelling a signed Agreement.
