Dear Students, Colleagues, and Prospective Highlanders,
Welcome to the Department of Management at Radford University.
Management is about turning ideas into action and leading people toward meaningful results. Whether your goal is to lead organizations, develop people, or build your own business, our programs are designed to help you succeed.
At Radford, we are a teaching-focused institution. Our faculty are committed to your success both inside and outside the classroom. You will work closely with professors who know your name, challenge you to grow, and help you develop the skills employers value most. Small class sizes are not just a feature of our program - they are a commitment to your individual development.
Our curriculum emphasizes real-world application. You will learn how to lead teams, manage projects, solve problems, and make strategic decisions in dynamic environments. Through internships, consulting projects, and applied learning experiences, you will gain practical experience that prepares you to contribute immediately in the workplace.
What makes Management unique is its versatility. Our students develop a broad set of competencies that apply across industries while also having the opportunity to specialize in areas such as human resource management, entrepreneurship, and analytics. The landscape of business is changing rapidly - artificial intelligence, design thinking, and data-driven decision-making are no longer optional skills. We have built these into our curriculum because we believe your education should keep pace with the world you are entering.
Our entrepreneurship ecosystem - anchored by the RU Venture Lab - gives students real opportunities to build and pitch ventures, engage in Junior Achievement programs, and compete in innovation challenges. Students in our HR concentration are prepared to sit for SHRM certification. Students across programs have the opportunity to pursue PMP and Design Thinking credentials that set them apart in the job market.
We invite you to explore our programs, connect with our faculty, and discover how a degree in management can shape your future.
Whether you want to lead teams, build organizations, or launch your own business, the Management program provides the foundation to succeed - not just in your first job, but throughout a lifetime of leadership.
With Highlander Pride,
Department Chair
