Our internship program is designed to provide training in practical skill areas relevant to the development of a Professional Counselor, with a focus on the college counseling setting.
Thank you for your interest in Radford University’s Counseling Internship program. Student Counseling Services offers multiple internships throughout the Fall and Spring semester for students in various clinical programs including Counselor Education, Counseling Psychology, and others as appropriate. We are able to offer internship opportunities for both Masters and Doctoral level interns.
Our internship program is designed to provide training in practical skill areas relevant to the development of a Professional Counselor, with a focus on the college counseling setting; however, skills developed in the program are applicable in a variety of clinical settings. Interns will facilitate individual, couple’s, and group counseling sessions. Interns will also participate in case consultation and supervision, utilize an Electronic Health Record, support students in crisis as appropriate, and evaluate for continuity of care. The Counseling Internship provides ongoing opportunities for interns to engage with all of our licensed staff, to promote observation of and involvement with a variety of clinical styles, orientations, and experiences.
If you have any questions or are interested in finding out more about the Counseling Internship through Radford University’s Student Counseling Center, please contact Emily Fitzgerald.
