When do the enforcement officers issue tickets? Parking regulations are strictly enforced in all lots, Monday - Friday, from 7 a.m. to 6 p.m., including breaks, holidays and in the summer. Disabled (handicapped), University Apartment lots, reserved spaces, curb and yellow line parking are enforced 24/7, both by Parking Enforcement Officers and University Police Department.
Does the vehicle state issued license plate need to face the travel lane, if I only have one license plate? Yes. The state issued license plate needs to face the travel lane.
When I buy my virtual permit can I use any vehicle I want on campus even if I did not register it? No. All vehicles must be registered to park on-campus. A vehicle is registered when a University parking permit is purchased, and vehicle information is added to the account.
Can I register multiple vehicles on my virtual parking permit? Yes. However, only one vehicle may be parked on-campus. If more than the one vehicle is parked on-campus, then a separate parking permit would need to be purchased or you may purchase a parking session from the AMP mobile app or aimsmobilepay.com.
If I have someone that is visiting and would like to park on-campus, do they need a parking permit? Yes. Visitors need to purchase a parking session or permit while on-campus. Visitors can purchase parking hourly or by the day using the AMP mobile app or aimsmobilepay.com. Visitors for University apartments may not park in the apartment lots. The apartment lots are reserved for the resident of the apartment only. Visitors must park in a lot near or adjacent to the apartment. Students and employees are not considered visitors of the University.
Can I park in the 30-minute spaces beyond the 30-minutes? No. Parking longer in the 30-minute spaces will result in a citation or towing of the vehicle. The 30-minute spaces are for short-term parking only.
If my vehicle becomes disabled, can I just leave a note on the dash? No, disabled vehicles must be reported to Parking Services or the University Police Department in person or by phone immediately. (Notes are not acceptable).
Can I appeal a ticket at any time? Yes, as long as it is within the first 10 days after it was issued. All citations must be paid prior to filing an appeal. All appeals must be filed in writing with the Appeals Committee within 10 calendar days from the date of the citation or there shall be no right of appeal. The first date counted, in the 10-day rule, is the ticket issuance date. All decisions of the Appeals Committee shall be final. If I am a Radford University Carilion or Roanoke Higher Education student, do I need to purchase a permit to park on Radford main campus? Yes. All students, faculty and staff must purchase either an annual permit or pay for parking through the AMP mobile app or aimsmobilepay.com.
What is considered a properly parked vehicle? A vehicle is only properly parked if it is in a parking space which is defined as a marked area with painted parallel lines on both sides. In lots that are not so marked, vehicles must not take up more than one space.
Why did I get a ticket when there were no other open spaces in the lot I parked in? Lack of convenient space is not a valid excuse for violations.
Why did I get a ticket when I had my hazard lights flashing and I was only going to be there two minutes? The use of flashers does not give permission to park illegally. There are 30-minute parking spaces in various parking lots that can be used for short-term parking.
When a lot is reserved or closed for an event, can I still park in the lot? No. Only those attending the event may park in the lot or those who have a DMV handicap permit.
Can students use AMP passes to park in lots that are not their permitted account designation? No. students may no use AMP passes to park in lots outside of their account designation. Can faculty/staff park in University apartment lots? No. University apartment lots are for apartment resident parking only.
