Purpose and Overview
Graduate assistantships at Radford University provide financial support to high-quality
full-time students while enhancing their educational experience. These positions offer

Types of Assistantships
Eligibility and Requirements
Must be enrolled full-time (9 credit hours), maintain a minimum 3.0 GPA, and complete
all necessary tax forms. International students must verify work authorization and
meet specific visa requirements.
Application Process
Students are automatically considered for assistantships upon admission. Additional
applications for summer positions are accepted via resume submission to gradaffairs@radford.edu.
Stipends & Responsibilities
Performance & Evaluation
Assistantships require professional fulfillment of assigned duties, adherence to
university regulations, and regular evaluations by supervisors.
Additional Information
Graduate assistants are covered by liability insurance, exempt from Social Security
tax if enrolled at least half-time, and are not eligible for sick leave benefits.
Additional employment is discouraged due to study demands.
