Students seeking academic accommodations under the Americans with Disabilities Act must apply for services with the Center for Accessibility Services (CAS) to determine eligibility. Applications are only required one time.
Students qualified for academic accommodations will receive access plans and should meet with each course professor during office hours, to review and discuss accommodations. For more information, call 540-831-6350 or email us.
You will receive an email confirming submission. Please notify us if you did not receive a confirmation email. Your application will be reviewed by a CAS Access Specialist, who will reach out to schedule an interview within a week.
After a specialist approves your semester request in Access CAS, you will receive an email that your semester Access Plan is ready. We will notifify your instructors by email to make them aware that you will contact them to discuss accommodations.
After meeting and discussing your accommodations, you and your professor need to electronically sign the semester's ACCESS plan.
Accommodations are not in place until BOTH the student and the instructor have met and agreed to the accommodations, and signed the Access Plan.
