When do I have to pay for the trip or rental?
Payment for a trip or rental is due upon registration or reservation.
Can non-Radford students rent equipment?
No. At this time equipment rental is reserved for current Radford students and staff.
A valid RUID must be presented when renting equipment.
Can I take a friend that does not attend RU with me on a trip?
Yes you can. Non-RU students are permitted to participate on Outdoor Program trips.
However, they must be at least 18 years old or 16 with parental consent, and they
are not able to register for the trip until two weeks prior to the registration deadline.
Do you offer gift cards?
Kind of! Individuals are able to purchase trip credit* for themselves or as a gift
for another person. These purchases must be completed over the phone or in person.
You can also register someone for a specific trip.
*Trip credit is available on the account of the gifted that is able to be applied to future registrations or rental equipment.
Do I need health insurance to participate?
No. However, it is highly encouraged that you obtain health insurance prior to participation.
Do I need any experience to participate?
No. All of our trips are designed to accommodate beginner to intermediate skill levels.
Can I use my own equipment?
Yes and no. It truly depends on the nature of our trip and the condition of your equipment.
Please ask the trip leader during the pre-trip meeting if you will be able to use
your own equipment.
Do you accommodate individuals with dietary restrictions?
We do our best to design meals around your dietary restrictions. You will have to
let us know when you register for the trip what those restrictions are so we can plan
ahead. There is spot on the medical release form for you to detail this information.
Do your trip leaders have any medical training?
Yes. All of our trip leaders are certified Wilderness First Responders or higher.
How can I pay for a trip?
We accept cash, check, credit cards, and OneCard. Please make checks payable to Radford
University.
Can we rent gear out for our own personal use?
Yes you can. Please check out our information on rental equipment for details concerning pricing and the types of equipment available. Don't forget

Does Outdoor Programs offer private group trips?
Yes we do. If you are interested in hosting a private trip for a club or organization
please contact the Assistant Director of Outdoor Programs for more information.
