The mission of the Radford University Institutional Animal Care and Use Committee (IACUC) is to foster the humane care and use of laboratory animals in research and education and to adhere to applicable laws, standards, and policies affecting such use.
The IACUC is mandated by federal law to oversee the University's animal care and use program, facilities, and procedures and to ensure the appropriate and humane treatment of animals being used for research, testing, and education. The IACUC is responsible for ensuring that all work performed with research laboratory animals used at Radford University complies with all applicable federal, state, and institutional laws, policies, and guidelines. This responsibility applies to all research and teaching, regardless of location and funding source.

Confidential reporting is also available to register a concern about animal welfare or to file a complaint. The Whistle Blower Complaint Form (Submit a concern or complaint) does not require contact information to be provided; however, for the most thorough investigation of concerns to be conducted, or to request any additional information regarding anonymous comments or concerns, the IACUC Committee and Research Integrity and Compliance Office greatly appreciate at least minimal contact information is provided so that the most thorough investigation of the concerns may be conducted.
