MGNT 621: Organizational Behavior and Management Skills

Studies the behavior of individuals and groups in organizations from a managerial point of view; applies the concepts, methods and research findings of the behavioral sciences to the understanding of the causes and consequences of human performance, satisfaction and development in organizations. Also includes management skills development.

The course will include research-based lectures and discussion, and will utilize cases, group activities, student projects and critiques in class, as well as various learning/diagnostic instruments. Individual and/or group research papers will be required
Goals and Objectives of the Course
The primary objective of this course is to expose the student to the personal, interpersonal, and group skills necessary to be effective in organizational settings. At the end of the course, the student will:
Assessment Measures
Individual and group research projects and cases. Examinations, including a final examination. In-class exercises and other class participation.
Other Course Information
The course is intended primarily for M.B.A. students, but also is appropriate for graduate students in other majors related to administration.
