Detailed Description of Conduct of Course
Course is conducted synchronously and offered in multiple formats. D2L weekly module-based
assignments of readings, lectures, guest speakers, discussions, exams, case studies,
presentations, group activities, and reflective learning.

Course Learning Objectives
- Analyze the basic legal systems, and their inter-relationships.
- Develop a framework for analyzing problems from a legal perspective.
- Examine the role and impact of governmental regulation on healthcare delivery.
- Analyze the business, legal, and ethical frameworks which govern both organizational
structures of healthcare institutions and clinical decision-making.
- Synthesize recent research in health administration, law, and ethics, with application
to actual situations.
- Differentiate the boundaries between legal and ethical issues in healthcare.
Assessment Measures
Students will be graded based on the assignments of readings, lectures, guest speakers,
discussions, exams, case studies, presentations, group activities, video recordings,
Zoom sessions, and reflective learning of the course.
