The course content is divided into three modules:
Module 1: Foundation for Health Equity
Module 2: Population-based Issues Impacting Health Equity
Module 3: Evidence-based Solutions for Achieving Health Equity
Detailed Description of Conduct of Course
This course is taught 100% online with weekly modules that the students complete at their own pace. The instructional strategies utilized in this course include synchronous zoom meetings, VoiceThread assignments, Health Equity team project which includes a team presentation, and three "writing-to-learn" written assignments (i.e. Reflection paper, Health Disparities paper, and a Literature Review).

Assessment strategies utilized in this course include points for:
Participation: Two synchronous zoom sessions and 8 VoiceThread assignments.
Health Equity Team Project: This project is scaffolded into four parts with each part assessed individually utilizing rubrics.
Part 1: Team Resource Assignment (team assessment)
Part 2: Team Presentation Slide Assignment (team assessment)
Part 3: Team Presentation (individual assessment)
Part 4: Team Evaluation
The three assigned papers are assessed individually utilizing rubrics.
Each assignment will be graded using a grading rubric. The rubrics are available to students under the tab labeled “Rubrics”. Students are encouraged to use the rubrics to grade themselves before submitting their assignment to ensure that they have addressed all of the areas specified in the rubric.
