COMS 446: Media Production 4: Studio
Prerequisites: COMS 130, COMS 146 (C- or Better), COMS 246, COMS 247, COMS 346, and COMS 347; or
permission of the instructor.

Provides advanced skills in video production through production in a studio environment
and beyond. Students gain experience with a variety of studio equipment and software,
as well as different production roles. Finally, students learn to work as both individuals
and as members of
a team.
Detailed Description of Content of the Course
This course focuses on advanced video production that centers on studio production. Students gain knowledge and skills through hands-on experience with various pieces of equipment, software, and roles. Students work as both individuals and as part of a team to plan and execute effective and high-quality productions. Students also continue to refine their video and audio skills from prior courses through the creation of individual assets, such as videos, outside of the studio. Students get exposed to various studio scenarios, including, but not limited to, newscasts.
Detailed Description of Conduct of Course:
This course will consist of lectures, discussions, and demonstrations. Students may be asked to read material from a required textbook, watch videos, and/or read articles or selections from books. Students will work on assignments in and out of class and will produce studio productions.
