ANSC 495

ANSC 495: Seminar in Anthropological Sciences.

Prerequisite: ANSC 201 or permission of instructor

Credit Hours: (1-4) Meets one to four hours weekly

Reading and/or research focusing on specialized topics in the Anthropological Sciences. Only four hours may be applied to minor requirements.

Note(s): May be repeated for the major for a total of eight hours credit when topics differ.

 

Detailed Description of Content of Course

Content for the course will be determined by the instructor in consultation with the Department Curriculum Committee.

Detailed Description of Conduct of Course

Heavy emphasis will be placed upon student discussion of pertinent materials. Occasional lectures may also be utilized.

Goals and Objectives of the Course

Students will examine and demonstrate knowledge of a subdiscipline of anthropology they may not otherwise experience.

Assessment Measures

Students may be evaluated on the basis of their performance in class discussions, on essay examinations, and on papers and projects.
