Brief Description: This course provides an opportunity for study of a specific topic in African American Studies. At least three credits are required for completion of the African American Studies minor. It may be taken for up to six credit hours when topics differ.

This course examines a specific topic in African American Studies drawn from disciplines including but not limited to sociology, history, art, literature, or music, Content for the course will be determined by the instructor in consultation with the Department Curriculum Committee.

Student Learning Outcomes
Students will examine a selected topic in African American Studies. Specific learning outcomes for each iteration of the course will be determined by the instructor but each course will meet general goals such as:
