Do you enjoy budgeting, auditing, or problem-solving with numbers? With a degree in
accounting, you’ll be able to understand and consult on a range of business processes
upon graduation including auditing, tax consulting, governmental work, and nonprofits.
Each upper-division accounting course is taught by an individual with a terminal degree
(Ph.D., D.B.A.) in the field.
Our smaller class sizes allow you to get to know your professor better, and for them
to know and help you.
Accounting faculty not only serve as academic advisors, but they also support students’
search for internships and, eventually, full-time employment. We take great pride
in seeing students find careers. In fact, many of our rising seniors in accounting
have already obtained full-time employment before they start their last year in the
program.
Careers and Internships
Obtaining an internship, often as early as the summer between a student’s second and
third year, allows that student to learn more about areas within accounting that they
might be interested in pursuing full time. It also allows the student to obtain up
to 3 hours of academic credit toward their degree.
What’s the professional landscape look like for a recent graduate with an accounting
degree?
Accounting graduates are inhigh demand, which also translates to opportunities as interns while you’re still in school.
