Visits to university facilities and attendance at university events and programs by elected and appointed federal and state officials and their staff members or candidates for public office are an important part of University government relations efforts and are encouraged. Invitations to federal and state elected officials and Cabinet members should be extended by the Office of the President, and all invitations to these officials shall be led by the Assistant Vice President for Government Relations and Strategic Initiatives. All requests from elected officials to participate in Radford University events or programs shall be directed to the Office of the President; the Assistant Vice President for Government Relations and Strategic Initiatives is the point of contact. The Office of the President will assist with facilitating the invitation, event logistics, and protocol.
