Radford University Emergency Medical Services (RUEMS) is a licensed Basic Life Support
first response organization that is an all-student, all-volunteer campus rescue squad.
RUEMS provides emergency medical services to the Radford University community, working
in coordination with the City of Radford Fire & EMS throughout the academic year.
Dedicated to protecting and enhancing the quality of life for students, faculty, staff,
visitors, and the surrounding community, RUEMS plays an important role in campus safety.
Services include responding to 911 medical calls on campus and providing standby coverage
by supporting athletic events and concerts and assisting during major campus functions
such as commencement.
RUEMS is committed to developing the next generation of emergency responders and offers
opportunities for students to receive certification and hands-on training. The organization
is continuously seeking motivated individuals to join the team. Students interested
