Dan Woods received his PhD from Virginia Tech majoring in Curriculum and Instruction
with a focus on English Education. Before pursuing his PhD, Dan taught middle and
high school English in Roanoke City and Montgomery County. He earned his MA-Ed. from
Virginia Tech, as well as a BS and MA in English from Radford University. His research
interests include teacher education, critical literacy, and social justice. As of
August 2016, he has been an Associate Professor of English Education at Radford University; He
currently serves as the Director of the Interdisciplinary Studies Program. In the
past he has served as the Coordinator of the English Education Program, as a member
of the Executive Board of the Virginia Association of Teachers of English and editor
of The Virginia English Journal.
