The Governmental and Nonprofit Assistance Center (GNAC) provides quality professional education and technical assistance to public sector organizations.
Radford University is committed to public service and seeks to share resources, skills and facilities. The GNAC has developed alliances, partnerships and arrangements with selected professional organizations and associations, such as the Government Finance Officers Association, Treasurers Association of Virginia, Virginia Government Finance Officers' Association and other organizations. The purpose of these relationships is to identify educational and training needs and to provide programs and delivery systems to meet those needs. This approach allows the GNAC to complement the programs of existing professional organizations.
The GNAC will offer a variety of workshops and on-line seminars throughout the year covering topics on public sector finance and management and that are of interest to local government finance officials. The GNAC draws on faculty expertise within the Davis College of Business and Economics as well as the rest of the university.
The mission of the Government and Nonprofit Assistance Center is to be known as the center in Virginia that provides quality professional financial education and technical assistance to governmental and not-for-profit organizations. The GNAC seeks to involve Radford University faculty in developing programs for this important sector.
